KALS Information Systems, the Bangalore-based solutions provider, plans to introduce its new comprehensive Web-based insurance product `Virtual Insure' in India by next month.

Mr K. Srinivasan, Managing Director, KALS Information Systems, said the life insurance product was currently being tested and would be targeted primarily at the Asian market. Virtual Insure aims at addressing the needs of insurance agents, brokers, development officers and clients both existing and prospective, he said.

The company also planned to launch specific service packages for facilities management in the insurance sector, he said. KALS provides various solutions for the global market such as replacement systems for legacy installation, workflow and document management solutions, technology redesign for older insurance software, Web and e-commerce enabled marketing systems.

The company already has an insurance product -- E-IAS, and an e-commerce package LA-VISION for manufacturing and distribution applications. KALS' clientele includes CMG Asia Life Assurance LTD, Hong Kong, AUDCO (Larsen and Toubro Group) and Epson India.

The company, which has domain expertise in the insurance sector, is also planning to consolidate its presence in the US market and is scouting for joint venture partners. It also planned to come out with another version of Virtual Insure for the general insurance segment, he said.

KALS recently opened an office in Mumbai and is currently in the process of acquiring a Singapore-based company -- Data Fusion's Pte Ltd -- with which it has a marketing tie-up. The acquisition process was likely to be completed in the next few months, he said.

The company, which went public recently, got listed last week at the Bangalore, Hyderabad and New Delhi stock exchanges.
